The Falcon is a Marvel superhero first seen in comic books back in 1969. He premiered in the pages of Captain America, and was the first African-American superhero.

Sam Wilson made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and later appeared in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War.

Sam Wilson aka The Falcon

The Falcon has been portrayed by actor Anthony Mackie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Anthony Mackie managed to balance humor and drama with his portrayal of The Falcon. From the moment Steve Rogers laps him while jogging in the opening scene of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, you believe their friendship. “On your left!”

Impressive wingspan!

In the earlier comic books the Captain America villain Red Skull uses the Cosmic Cube to fuse Sam Wilson’s mind with Redwing’s mind. In Captain America: Civil War, Redwing is revealed in a more grounded way, a drone that Sam Wilson operates remotely.

In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson reveals to Steve Rogers that he has a winged jet pack, and uses it to help Captain America take down the undercover Hydra agents in the third act. At the end of Avengers Age of Ultron, The Falcon swoops in with an updated, more advanced suit.

Without giving anything away, Anthony Mackie (as Sam Wilson) has some memorable able moments in Captain America: Civil War. He has excellent chemistry with Chris Evans (Steve Rogers) and the rest of the cast, and some especially funny moments with Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes. One of the great things about Captain America: Civil War, is that every Superhero has their moment to shine, and The Falcon is no exception.
