Batman and Robin Super Powers Jumbo Figures
Now that the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice is almost upon us, let’s take a look at a simpler, more colorful time in Bat-History. Our adventure begins in 1984 when Kenner released the Super Powers action figure line!
The Super Powers Collection featured all the D.C. Heroes you could shake a Batarang at: Batman, Robin, and Superman to name a few, even Wonder Woman! ( My SECOND ever female action figure, sorry WW, but GI-Joe’s Scarlett was the first female action figure in my collection) But, I digress… There were also villains like the Joker and Lex Luthor.
The figures remained reasonably faithful to their Comic Book designs, which is always a plus, and Bats and the Boy Wonder even had fabric capes!
Flash forward to 2016 and the D.C. characters are about to hit the big screen in a major way, and you’re going to want to get in on the action. But, if you’re like me, you’re starting to miss that classic Blue and Grey look for Batman. And you know you miss Robin… Where’s Robin these days?
Don’t even ask me how they did it, but the good people at Gentle Giant Ltd 3D technology to re-create these classic figures in Jumbo 12″ scale! The attention to detail, Vinyl, plastic and even the fabric capes all add up to the Dynamic Duo looking pretty awesome.
